Group BTS has topped Japan's major music charts after the United States and Britain.

Japan's Oricon Chart reported on official website that BTS's new album On April 17, MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA, was ranked No. 1 in the digital album rankings of April 22 in the first week of sale in Japan.

The U.S. Billboard and British Official Charts reported a series of articles on April 15, that BTS' new album, MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA, which was released simultaneously around the world on April 12, topped the Billboard 200 and the Special Albums Chart.

The U.S. Billboard said "If the album reaches the top of the charts, BTS will be the third to top the charts following LOVE YOURSELF 轉 Tear and LOVE YOURSELF 結 Answer," 

The British Official Chart reported, adding that BTS is set to write the history of the British Official Chart, "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA's sales have already surpassed the combined sales of all the first three albums, including LOVE YOURSELF 轉 Tear, which made it to the top 10 last year," 

BTS is writing a new history as a global artist, topping the album chart, which leads major music markets around the world.
